The clock
- Quarterly index reviews announced in mid-February, May, August, and November, effective as of the close of the last business day of that month (live the following month-start).
- Confirmed upcoming dates: Nov 11 → Dec 1, 2026; Feb 9 → Mar 1, 2027; May 10 → May 28, 2027; Aug 12 → Sep 1, 2027.
- The August 2026 review (announced Aug 12, implemented at the Aug 31 close) added 55 securities to ACWI and deleted 92.
What to watch
- Greece returns to Developed Markets: announced March 31, 2026, implemented at the May 2027 review — a rare DM promotion. (FTSE moved Greece to Developed already in September 2026.)
- Digital-asset-treasury exclusion: MSCI’s 2026 consultation on excluding crypto-treasury companies (the Strategy/Metaplanet question), with possible removals from the November review onward.
- Korea: kept in Emerging Markets at the June 2026 review — not even added to the DM watchlist — with FX-market accessibility cited.
- India’s EM weight keeps climbing; the August 2026 review day drove a record closing-session turnover on the NSE.
